e-zwich is the brand name for the common platform(National switch) that links the payment systems of all banks, savings and loans companies rural banks in Ghana.
To get the e-zwich smart card, visit any bank of your choice and request for the smart card to be issued to you at no cost.
You will need a valid photo ID (Voters ID card, Drivers License, passport, National ID)
The process should take between 5 to 10 minutes.
The e-zwich smart card is a "load and spend" card. Loading is a prerequisite for spending off the smart card. Loading in e-zwich terminology involves:
1.Transfer Card2card- This involves transferring funds /money from one e-zwich card to another e-zwich card at any point of sale terminal or the e-zwich ATM .
2. Non Card transfer- This involves transferring funds/money to an e-zwich card holder from someone without a card at any point of sale terminal or the e-zwich ATM .
3.Bank 2 card transfer- This involves the movement of funds from your traditional bank account linked to your card at any point of sale terminal or the e-zwich ATM .
4. Card 2Bank transfer- This type of transfer allows you the card holder to transfer funds from the your card linked to your traditional bank account to your bank account.
